How to Connect PeaSoup S3 to WD My Cloud
Follow these steps to configure WD My Cloud to back up data to PeaSoup S3. Since PeaSoup provides an S3-compatible API, you can configure WD My Cloud to use it as a cloud backup destination similar to Amazon S3.
Prerequisites
- PeaSoup S3 Access: Ensure you have the following information:
- Access key
- Secret key
- Bucket name
- PeaSoup S3 endpoint URL https://s3.eu-west-1.peasoup.cloud
- WD My Cloud NAS with S3 backup functionality enabled.
Steps to Connect PeaSoup S3 to WD My Cloud
- Log into WD My Cloud:
- Access the WD My Cloud web interface by entering the IP address of your device in a web browser.
- Go to the Backup Settings:
- In the main dashboard, navigate to Backup and select Cloud Backup.
- Add a New Cloud Backup Job:
- Click Add Backup or Create Job to set up a new backup job.
- Select S3-Compatible Storage as your cloud backup type.
- Configure PeaSoup S3 as the Backup Destination:
- Service Type: Select Custom S3-Compatible.
- Access Key: Enter your PeaSoup S3 access key.
- Secret Key: Enter your PeaSoup S3 secret key.
- Bucket Name: Enter the name of the PeaSoup S3 bucket where you want to store backups.
- Endpoint: Enter the PeaSoup S3 endpoint URL https://s3.eu-west-1.peasoup.cloud
- Region: Enter the region if required by PeaSoup, or leave it blank.
- Select Files/Folders to Back Up:
- Choose the data from your WD My Cloud that you want to back up to PeaSoup S3.
- Set the Backup Schedule:
- Configure the backup schedule (e.g., daily, weekly) and set options such as bandwidth limits if needed.
- Complete and Run the Backup:
- Once all settings are configured, save the job.
- You can run the backup job immediately or wait for the scheduled time to begin backing up your data to PeaSoup S3.
- Monitor the backup progress from the WD My Cloud interface to ensure everything is working correctly.
