How to Connect PeaSoup S3 to Veritas NetBackup
Follow these steps to configure Veritas NetBackup to store backups on PeaSoup S3. Since PeaSoup provides an S3-compatible API, you can configure it similarly to Amazon S3 as a cloud storage target for your backups.
Prerequisites
- PeaSoup S3 Access: Ensure you have the following information:
- Access key
- Secret key
- Bucket name
- PeaSoup S3 endpoint URL https://s3.eu-west-1.peasoup.cloud
- Veritas NetBackup installed and licenced for cloud storage functionality.
Steps to Connect PeaSoup S3 to Veritas NetBackup
- Open Veritas NetBackup Administration Console:
- Launch the Veritas NetBackup Administration Console and log in with your administrator credentials.
- Add a New Cloud Storage Server:
- In the main dashboard, go to Storage > Cloud to add a new cloud storage target.
- Click Add to create a new cloud storage server.
- Select S3-Compatible as the storage type.
- Configure PeaSoup S3 as Cloud Storage:
- Cloud Storage Server Name: Enter a name for this storage server (e.g., “PeaSoup S3”).
- Access Key: Enter your PeaSoup S3 access key.
- Secret Key: Enter your PeaSoup S3 secret key.
- Endpoint URL: Enter the PeaSoup S3 endpoint https://s3.eu-west-1.peasoup.cloud
- Bucket Name: Specify the PeaSoup S3 bucket where your backups will be stored.
- Region: Specify the region if required by PeaSoup, or leave it blank if not necessary.
- Test the Cloud Storage Connection:
- Click Test Connection to verify that NetBackup can connect to PeaSoup S3 and ensure the credentials and endpoint are correct.
- Configure Backup Policies:
- After successfully adding PeaSoup S3 as a cloud storage target, configure your backup policies to use PeaSoup as the storage destination.
- In the Policies section, create or edit a backup policy and select the PeaSoup S3 storage server as the backup target.
- Run and Monitor the Backup Jobs:
- Initiate a backup job and monitor the progress in the NetBackup console to ensure data is being backed up to PeaSoup S3.
- Verify the backup status and ensure everything is configured correctly.

- Ensure that PeaSoup S3 is reachable from your Veritas NetBackup environment. Verify network settings and firewall permissions to allow access to the PeaSoup S3 endpoint.
