How to Connect PeaSoup S3 to Synology Hyper Backup
Follow these steps to back up your Synology NAS data to PeaSoup S3 using Synology Hyper Backup. Since PeaSoup uses an S3-compatible API, you can configure it similarly to Amazon S3.
Prerequisites
- PeaSoup S3 Access: Ensure you have the following information:
- Access key
- Secret key
- Bucket name
- PeaSoup S3 endpoint URL https://s3.eu-west-1.peasoup.cloud
- Hyper Backup package: Ensure that Hyper Backup is installed on your Synology NAS.
Steps to Connect PeaSoup S3 to Synology Hyper Backup
- Open Hyper Backup on your Synology NAS:
- Access the Hyper Backup application from the main menu.
- Create a New Backup Task:
- Click on the + (plus) sign or Create to start a new backup task.
- Select S3 Storage:
- From the list of destination types, select S3 Storage.
- Configure the PeaSoup S3 Connection:
- Server Address: Enter the PeaSoup S3 endpoint https://s3.eu-west-1.peasoup.cloud
- Access Key: Enter your PeaSoup S3 access key.
- Secret Key: Enter your PeaSoup S3 secret key.
- Bucket Name: Choose or enter the PeaSoup S3 bucket where you want to back up your data.
- Advanced Settings (Optional):
- Region: Enter the region if required by PeaSoup. Otherwise, leave it blank.
- Folder: If desired, specify a folder within the PeaSoup S3 bucket where backups will be stored.
- Configure Backup Settings:
- Select the data or folders you wish to back up from your Synology NAS.
- Configure backup schedule and retention policies as needed.
- Complete the Setup:
- After configuring all settings, click Next and then Apply to save the backup task.
- Test the Backup:
- Run the backup task manually or wait for the scheduled time to confirm that the backup to PeaSoup S3 works correctly.
Notes
- Ensure that PeaSoup S3 service is compatible with S3 and that your NAS can access the PeaSoup S3 endpoint over the network.
- Check firewall settings or network permissions if necessary to allow access from your Synology NAS to PeaSoup S3.
