How to Connect PeaSoup S3 to Synology Cloud Sync

Follow these steps to connect your PeaSoup S3 service to Synology Cloud Sync. Since PeaSoup uses an S3-compatible API, you can set it up similarly to Amazon S3.

Prerequisites

  • PeaSoup S3 Access: Ensure you have the following information:
    • Access key
    • Secret key
    • Bucket name
    • PeaSoup S3 endpoint URL https://s3.eu-west-1.peasoup.cloud
  • Synology Cloud Sync package: Ensure that Cloud Sync is installed on your Synology NAS.

Steps to Connect PeaSoup S3 to Synology Cloud Sync

  1. Open Cloud Sync on your Synology NAS:
    • Access the Cloud Sync application from the main menu.
  2. Add a New Connection:
    • Click on the + (plus) sign or Create button to set up a new sync task.
  3. Select S3 Storage:
    • In the list of cloud providers, choose Amazon S3 Storage. PeaSoup uses an S3-compatible API, so this option works.
  4. Configure the PeaSoup S3 Connection:
    • S3 Server: Enter the PeaSoup S3 endpoint https://s3.eu-west-1.peasoup.cloud
    • Access Key: Enter your PeaSoup S3 access key.
    • Secret Key: Enter your PeaSoup S3 secret key.
    • Bucket Name: Select or enter the PeaSoup S3 bucket that you want to sync with.
  5. Advanced Settings (Optional):
    • Region: If required by PeaSoup, enter the region. Otherwise, leave it blank.
    • Folder: Optionally, specify the folder within the PeaSoup S3 bucket that you wish to sync.
  6. Select Sync Direction:
    • Choose one of the following options:
      • Upload local changes only
      • Download remote changes only
      • Two-way sync (both local and remote changes)
  7. Sync Schedule Configuration:
    • Set up your sync schedule based on your preferences. You can choose real-time sync or scheduled sync.
  8. Complete Setup:
    • After configuring all details, click Next and then Apply to save the sync task.
  9. Verify Connection:
    • Cloud Sync will begin syncing data between your Synology NAS and the PeaSoup S3 bucket. Check the sync status to confirm that the connection is working correctly.

Notes

  • Ensure that the PeaSoup S3 service is S3-compatible and that the endpoint is reachable from your Synology NAS.
  • PeaSoup may require specific permissions or firewall rules to allow your NAS to connect, so ensure these are configured correctly.
