How to Connect PeaSoup S3 to StorageCraft ShadowProtect

Follow these steps to configure StorageCraft ShadowProtect to back up data to PeaSoup S3. Since PeaSoup provides an S3-compatible API, you can configure it as a cloud destination similar to Amazon S3.

Prerequisites

  • PeaSoup S3 Access: Ensure you have the following information:
    • Access key
    • Secret key
    • Bucket name
    • PeaSoup S3 endpoint URL https://s3.eu-west-1.peasoup.cloud
  • StorageCraft ShadowProtect installed with the latest version supporting cloud backup.

Steps to Connect PeaSoup S3 to StorageCraft ShadowProtect

  1. Open StorageCraft ShadowProtect Console:
    • Launch the StorageCraft ShadowProtect console and log in with your administrator credentials.
  2. Go to Cloud Backup Settings:
    • In the main dashboard, navigate to Tools > Cloud Backup to configure a cloud backup destination.
  3. Add PeaSoup S3 as a Cloud Destination:
    • Select Add Cloud Destination to start configuring a new cloud target.
    • Choose S3-Compatible as the type of cloud storage provider.
  4. Configure PeaSoup S3 as Cloud Storage:
    • Access Key: Enter your PeaSoup S3 access key.
    • Secret Key: Enter your PeaSoup S3 secret key.
    • Bucket Name: Specify the PeaSoup S3 bucket you will use for backups.
    • Endpoint URL: Enter the PeaSoup S3 endpoint https://s3.eu-west-1.peasoup.cloud
    • Region: If required by PeaSoup, enter the region or leave it blank if not needed.
  5. Test the Cloud Storage Connection:
    • Click Test Connection to verify that StorageCraft can connect to PeaSoup S3 and validate the credentials and endpoint.
  6. Configure Backup Jobs:
    • Once PeaSoup S3 is added as a cloud destination, configure your backup jobs to use PeaSoup as the cloud storage location for your data.
  7. Run and Monitor the Backup:
    • Initiate a backup job to ensure the data is successfully being uploaded to PeaSoup S3.
    • Monitor the progress and verify the integrity of the backups via the StorageCraft console.

Notes

  • Ensure that PeaSoup S3 is reachable from your StorageCraft environment. Verify network settings and firewall permissions to allow communication.
  • StorageCraft ShadowProtect supports S3-compatible cloud storage, making it easy to integrate PeaSoup S3 for cloud backups.
