How to Connect PeaSoup S3 to QNAP Cloud Backup Sync
Follow these steps to back up your QNAP NAS data to PeaSoup S3 using QNAP Cloud Backup Sync. PeaSoup uses an S3-compatible API, so it can be configured similarly to Amazon S3.
Prerequisites
- PeaSoup S3 Access: Ensure you have the following information:
- Access key
- Secret key
- Bucket name
- PeaSoup S3 endpoint URL https://s3.eu-west-1.peasoup.cloud
- QNAP Cloud Backup Sync: Ensure the Cloud Backup Sync app is installed on your QNAP NAS.
Steps to Connect PeaSoup S3 to QNAP Cloud Backup Sync
- Open Cloud Backup Sync on your QNAP NAS:
- Go to the main menu and launch the Cloud Backup Sync app.
- Create a New Sync Job:
- Click on Sync Job Management and select Create Job.
- Choose Cloud Sync as the sync type.
- Select S3 Compatible Storage:
- From the list of cloud service providers, select S3 Compatible.
- Configure the PeaSoup S3 Connection:
- Service Provider: Select Custom.
- Server Address: Enter the PeaSoup S3 endpoint https://s3.eu-west-1.peasoup.cloud
- Access Key: Enter your PeaSoup S3 access key.
- Secret Key: Enter your PeaSoup S3 secret key.
- Bucket Name: Select or enter the PeaSoup S3 bucket you want to sync to.
- Advanced Settings (Optional):
- Region: Enter the region if required by PeaSoup. Otherwise, leave it blank.
- Folder: If needed, specify a folder within the PeaSoup S3 bucket where sync data will be stored.
- Select Sync Data:
- Choose the files or folders on your QNAP NAS that you want to sync with PeaSoup S3.
- Configure Sync Schedule and Options:
- Set up the sync schedule (e.g., real-time sync, scheduled sync) and any additional options like conflict resolution and bandwidth control.
- Complete the Sync Setup:
- Once all configurations are set, click Next to review the settings, then click Apply to create the sync job.
- Run the Sync Job:
- Run the sync job manually or wait for the scheduled time to confirm that the sync to PeaSoup S3 is working properly.

- Ensure PeaSoup S3 is S3-compatible and the endpoint is accessible from your QNAP NAS.
- Check network permissions or firewall settings to allow your NAS to connect to the PeaSoup S3 endpoint.
