How to Connect PeaSoup S3 to NetApp StorageGRID
Follow these steps to configure NetApp StorageGRID to store data on PeaSoup S3. Since PeaSoup uses an S3-compatible API, it can be integrated with NetApp StorageGRID as an S3-compliant storage service.
Prerequisites
- PeaSoup S3 Access: Ensure you have the following information:
- Access key
- Secret key
- Bucket name
- PeaSoup S3 endpoint URL https://s3.eu-west-1.peasoup.cloud
- NetApp StorageGRID should be installed and configured on your system.
Steps to Connect PeaSoup S3 to NetApp StorageGRID
- Log into NetApp StorageGRID:
- Access the StorageGRID Webscale management console by navigating to your StorageGRID IP or DNS in a web browser.
- Create a New S3-Compatible External Storage Location:
- From the main dashboard, navigate to External Storage and click on Create External Bucket.
- Select S3-Compatible Storage as the external storage type.
- Configure the PeaSoup S3 Connection:
- Endpoint: Enter the PeaSoup S3 endpoint https://s3.eu-west-1.peasoup.cloud
- Access Key: Enter your PeaSoup S3 access key.
- Secret Key: Enter your PeaSoup S3 secret key.
- Bucket Name: Specify the PeaSoup S3 bucket where the data will be stored.
- Advanced Settings (Optional):
- Region: If PeaSoup S3 requires a specific region, specify it. Otherwise, leave it blank.
- Replication and Versioning: If required, configure replication and versioning settings according to your data retention policies.
- Test the Connection:
- Click Test Connection to ensure that StorageGRID can connect to PeaSoup S3 and verify the credentials.
- Complete Setup:
- Once the connection is successfully tested, click Save to create the PeaSoup S3 external storage in NetApp StorageGRID.
- Verify and Use the PeaSoup S3 Connection:
- Navigate back to External Storage and ensure the PeaSoup S3 bucket is listed as an available storage location.
- You can now use this external storage for object storage workflows, tiering, and backups in NetApp StorageGRID.
Notes
- Ensure PeaSoup S3 is accessible from your StorageGRID instance and that firewall rules allow communication between the two.
- PeaSoup S3 provides S3-compliant object storage, so it should integrate seamlessly with NetApp StorageGRID’s S3 features.
