How to Connect PeaSoup S3 to Seagate IronWolf NAS
Follow these steps to configure your Seagate IronWolf NAS to back up data to PeaSoup S3 using its cloud backup feature. PeaSoup’s S3-compatible API allows you to configure it as a cloud backup destination similar to Amazon S3.
Prerequisites
- PeaSoup S3 Access: Ensure you have the following information:
- Access key
- Secret key
- Bucket name
- PeaSoup S3 endpoint URL https://s3.eu-west-1.peasoup.cloud
- Seagate IronWolf NAS with cloud backup functionality enabled.
Steps to Connect PeaSoup S3 to Seagate IronWolf NAS
- Log into Seagate IronWolf NAS:
- Access the Seagate IronWolf NAS web interface by entering the IP address of your NAS device in a web browser.
- Navigate to the Backup Settings:
- In the main dashboard, go to the Backup section and select Cloud Backup.
- Create a New Cloud Backup Job:
- Click on Create New Backup or Add Job to create a new backup task.
- Select S3-Compatible Storage as the cloud destination type.
- Configure PeaSoup S3 as the Backup Destination:
- Service Provider: Select Custom S3-Compatible.
- Access Key: Enter your PeaSoup S3 access key.
- Secret Key: Enter your PeaSoup S3 secret key.
- Bucket Name: Enter the PeaSoup S3 bucket name where you want to store backups.
- Endpoint: Enter the PeaSoup S3 endpoint URL https://s3.eu-west-1.peasoup.cloud
- Region: Specify the region if required by PeaSoup or leave it blank if not necessary.
- Select Files/Folders to Back Up:
- Select the data or folders from your Seagate IronWolf NAS that you want to back up to PeaSoup S3.
- Configure the Backup Schedule:
- Set up the backup schedule (e.g., daily, weekly, real-time) and configure any other options such as bandwidth limits or retention policies.
- Complete and Run the Backup:
- Once all the configurations are set, save the backup job.
- You can choose to run the backup immediately or wait for the scheduled time.
- Monitor the backup progress to ensure the data is being successfully uploaded to PeaSoup S3.
