How to Connect PeaSoup S3 to Ctera Cloud Gateway
Follow these steps to configure your Ctera Cloud Gateway to store data on PeaSoup S3. PeaSoup provides an S3-compatible API, which allows you to configure it as a cloud storage target for data storage, tiering, or backup in Ctera Cloud Gateway.
Prerequisites
- PeaSoup S3 Access: Make sure you have the following information:
- Access key
- Secret key
- Bucket name
- PeaSoup S3 endpoint URL https://s3.eu-west-1.peasoup.cloud
- Ctera Cloud Gateway installed and configured on your network.
Steps to Connect PeaSoup S3 to Ctera Cloud Gateway
- Log into Ctera Portal:
- Access the Ctera Cloud Gateway portal by entering the URL of your Ctera management console in a web browser.
- Log in with your administrator credentials.
- Add a New Cloud Storage Target:
- Navigate to the Administration section and select Cloud Drives or Storage.
- Click Add Cloud Storage to configure a new storage target.
- Select S3-Compatible as the Storage Type:
- Choose S3-Compatible as the cloud storage type in the configuration menu.
- Configure PeaSoup S3 as the Storage Target:
- Storage Name: Enter a name for this cloud storage target (e.g., “PeaSoup S3”).
- Access Key: Enter your PeaSoup S3 access key.
- Secret Key: Enter your PeaSoup S3 secret key.
- Bucket Name: Enter the PeaSoup S3 bucket name where your data will be stored.
- Endpoint: Enter the PeaSoup S3 endpoint https://s3.eu-west-1.peasoup.cloud
- Region: Specify the region if required by PeaSoup, or leave it blank if not needed.
- Test the Connection:
- Once you have entered the credentials and other required information, click Test Connection to verify that Ctera Cloud Gateway can connect to PeaSoup S3.
- Apply and Save the Configuration:
- After successfully testing the connection, click Apply to save the configuration and activate PeaSoup S3 as a cloud storage target.
- Configure Data Policies:
- Navigate to Policies > Storage Policies and create or modify policies to use PeaSoup S3 for archiving, tiering, or backup.
- Apply these policies to the appropriate cloud drives or shares within Ctera to enable data storage on PeaSoup S3.
- Monitor and Verify Data Transfers:
- Monitor the data transfer activities and verify that data is successfully being stored on PeaSoup S3 according to the configured policies.

- Ensure that PeaSoup S3 is reachable from your Ctera Cloud Gateway. Verify network settings and firewall rules to ensure proper communication.
- Ctera Cloud Gateway supports S3-compatible cloud storage, making PeaSoup a suitable target for cloud storage, archiving, and backup.
