How to Connect PeaSoup S3 to Commvault
Follow these steps to configure Commvault to store backups on PeaSoup S3. Since PeaSoup uses an S3-compatible API, you can configure it similarly to Amazon S3 as a cloud storage or archival target.
Prerequisites
- PeaSoup S3 Access: Ensure you have the following information:
- Access key
- Secret key
- Bucket name
- PeaSoup S3 endpoint URL https://s3.eu-west-1.peasoup.cloud
- Commvault software installed and properly licensed for cloud storage functionality.
Steps to Connect PeaSoup S3 to Commvault
- Open Commvault Command Center:
- Log into the Commvault Command Center using your administrator credentials.
- Once logged in, navigate to the Storage tab.
- Add a New Cloud Storage Library:
- In the Storage section, click Cloud to add a new cloud storage target.
- Select Add Cloud Storage to start the configuration process.
- Select S3-Compatible Storage:
- When prompted, choose S3-Compatible as the cloud storage type.
- Configure PeaSoup S3 as the Cloud Storage:
- Service Provider: Enter the name for the storage target (e.g., “PeaSoup S3”).
- Endpoint: Enter the PeaSoup S3 endpoint https://s3.eu-west-1.peasoup.cloud
- Access Key: Enter your PeaSoup S3 access key.
- Secret Key: Enter your PeaSoup S3 secret key.
- Bucket Name: Specify the PeaSoup S3 bucket that will be used to store your backups.
- Region: If PeaSoup requires a region, enter it here, or leave it blank if not applicable.
- Configure Storage Policies:
- After adding PeaSoup S3 as a storage library, go to Policies > Storage Policies.
- Create or edit a storage policy and select PeaSoup S3 as the destination for backups or archives.
- Test the Configuration:
- Once PeaSoup S3 is set up as a cloud storage target, initiate a backup job and verify that the data is successfully uploaded to PeaSoup S3.
