How to Connect PeaSoup S3 to Buffalo TeraStation Cloud Backup
Follow these steps to configure your Buffalo TeraStation to back up data to PeaSoup S3 using its cloud backup feature. Since PeaSoup provides an S3-compatible API, it can be configured as a cloud backup destination similarly to Amazon S3.
Prerequisites
- PeaSoup S3 Access: Ensure you have the following information:
- Access key
- Secret key
- Bucket name
- PeaSoup S3 endpoint URL https://s3.eu-west-1.peasoup.cloud
- Buffalo TeraStation with cloud backup feature enabled and configured.
Steps to Connect PeaSoup S3 to Buffalo TeraStation Cloud Backup
- Log into Buffalo TeraStation:
- Access the TeraStation web interface by navigating to your TeraStation’s IP address in a web browser.
- Go to Cloud Backup Settings:
- In the TeraStation dashboard, navigate to Backup from the left-hand menu and click on Cloud Backup.
- Add a New Cloud Backup Job:
- Click Add Job to create a new cloud backup job.
- Select S3-Compatible Storage as the cloud backup destination.
- Configure PeaSoup S3 Connection:
- Service Type: Select Custom S3 Compatible.
- Access Key: Enter your PeaSoup S3 access key.
- Secret Key: Enter your PeaSoup S3 secret key.
- Bucket Name: Enter the name of the PeaSoup S3 bucket where you want to store backups.
- Endpoint: Enter the PeaSoup S3 endpoint https://s3.eu-west-1.peasoup.cloud
- Region: Specify the region, if necessary, or leave it blank if not required by PeaSoup.
- Select Data to Back Up:
- Choose the files or folders from your Buffalo TeraStation that you want to back up to PeaSoup S3.
- Configure Backup Schedule:
- Set up your preferred backup schedule, such as real-time or scheduled backups, depending on your data protection requirements.
- Complete and Test the Backup Job:
- Once all settings are configured, click Apply to save the cloud backup job.
- You can now either run the backup job immediately or wait for the scheduled time.
- Test the backup job to ensure the data is being uploaded successfully to PeaSoup S3.

- Ensure that PeaSoup S3 is reachable from your Buffalo TeraStation. Check your network settings or firewall rules if needed.
