How to Connect PeaSoup S3 to Arcserve UDP

Follow these steps to configure Arcserve UDP to store backups on PeaSoup S3. Since PeaSoup provides an S3-compatible API, you can configure it similarly to Amazon S3 as a cloud storage target for your backups.

Prerequisites

  • PeaSoup S3 Access: Ensure you have the following information:
    • Access key
    • Secret key
    • Bucket name
    • PeaSoup S3 endpoint URL https://s3.eu-west-1.peasoup.cloud
  • Arcserve UDP installed and licensed with the Cloud Storage feature enabled.

Steps to Connect PeaSoup S3 to Arcserve UDP

  1. Open Arcserve UDP Console:
    • Log into the Arcserve UDP console using your administrator credentials.
    • Navigate to the Resources tab and select Destinations from the left-hand menu.
  2. Add a New Cloud Storage:
    • Click on Add a Cloud Account to add a new cloud storage target.
    • Select Amazon S3 Compatible as the cloud provider.
  3. Configure PeaSoup S3 as Cloud Storage:
    • Cloud Account Name: Enter a name for this cloud storage (e.g., “PeaSoup S3”).
    • Access Key: Enter your PeaSoup S3 access key.
    • Secret Key: Enter your PeaSoup S3 secret key.
    • Endpoint URL: Enter the PeaSoup S3 endpoint https://s3.eu-west-1.peasoup.cloud
    • Bucket Name: Specify the PeaSoup S3 bucket where your backups will be stored.
    • Region: Specify the region if required by PeaSoup, or leave it blank if not necessary.
  4. Test the Cloud Storage Connection:
    • Click on Test to verify the connection to PeaSoup S3 and ensure that the credentials and endpoint are correct.
  5. Configure Backup Plans:
    • Once PeaSoup S3 is added as a cloud storage destination, go to Plans and configure a backup plan to use PeaSoup S3 as the target for cloud backups.
    • Select the appropriate data or systems to back up and assign PeaSoup S3 as the cloud destination for the backup plan.
  6. Test the Backup Plan:
    • After configuring the plan, run a backup job manually to verify that data is being successfully uploaded to PeaSoup S3.

  • Ensure that PeaSoup S3 is accessible from your Arcserve UDP server by verifying network settings and firewall rules.
  • Arcserve UDP supports S3-compatible cloud storage services, making it easy to integrate PeaSoup as a cloud storage backup target.
