RTO (Recovery Time Objective) is how long it takes to recover — measured in minutes or hours. RPO (Recovery Point Objective) is how much data you lose — measured in minutes. Veeam has low RTO/RPO; Zerto and Hystax offer near-zero RPO with seconds-level RTO.
You need both. Backup is for point-in-time recovery of files and objects. Disaster recovery is for continuous replication of entire systems. PeaSoup offers both — backup for granular recovery, DR for continuous business continuity.
