PeaSoup is dedicated to providing reliable, efficient, and high-quality storage solutions. This Fair Use Policy (“Policy”) outlines appropriate usage practices to ensure consistent performance for all users. By using PeaSoup S3-Compatible Object Storage, you agree to comply with this Policy.
1. Intended Usage
PeaSoup Object Storage is designed for standard data storage, retrieval, and backup purposes. It is not intended to function as a high-frequency data transaction service or content delivery network (CDN) without prior arrangement. Usage beyond these standard practices, such as frequent and automated data requests, may be considered excessive and subject to review.
2. Monthly Free Egress Limit
PeaSoup S3-Compatible Object Storage includes a monthly free egress allowance for standard data retrieval. This free egress is limited to an amount equal to the total size of your stored data in your PeaSoup storage buckets. For example, if you have 5 terabytes (TB) of data stored, you may egress up to 5 TB each month at no additional charge. This limit resets monthly and applies to total egress across all buckets associated with your account.
3. Additional Egress and Excessive Usage
If your data egress usage exceeds the monthly free limit (equal to your total stored data size), PeaSoup reserves the right to impose additional charges for excess data transfer, calculated at our standard overage rates.
4. Prohibited Activities and Misuse
The following activities constitute misuse of PeaSoup S3-Compatible Object Storage and may result in additional charges, restricted access, or account suspension:
- Excessive Data Egress: Continuously or repeatedly exceeding the free monthly egress limit without prior arrangement.
- Automated Data Extraction: Using automated tools, bots, or scripts to retrieve data at a frequency that impacts PeaSoup’s infrastructure or degrades performance for other users.
- Unauthorised Data Sharing: Allowing third parties to access or transfer data in a way that deviates from typical storage use.
5. Access Frequency and Shared Resources
PeaSoup Object Storage is a shared service. Excessive frequency of data access requests, such as high rates of GET or PUT operations, can impact infrastructure. Any activity that affects availability or performance for other users may be deemed excessive and subject to additional review, charges, or restrictions.
6. Data Responsibility and Backup Disclaimer
PeaSoup Object Storage does not include data backup or recovery services. Users are solely responsible for maintaining their own data backups and ensuring data integrity. PeaSoup is not liable for data loss or damage resulting from policy violations, misuse, or interruptions in service.
7. Enforcement and Penalties
PeaSoup may notify you if your usage patterns appear to violate this Policy. Users will have an opportunity to adjust their practices, where appropriate. Repeated or severe violations of this Policy may result in temporary suspension of services, additional charges, or termination of your account to maintain service quality for all users.
8. Policy Changes
PeaSoup reserves the right to modify this Policy to reflect changes in our services or usage patterns. Any updates will be posted on our website, and continued use of PeaSoup Object Storage constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
