Follow these steps to configure Rubrik to store backups on PeaSoup S3. Since PeaSoup is S3-compatible, you can use it as an archival or backup destination, similar to Amazon S3.

Prerequisites

  • PeaSoup S3 Access: Ensure you have the following information:
    • Access key
    • Secret key
    • Bucket name
    • PeaSoup S3 endpoint URL https://s3.eu-west-1.peasoup.cloud
  • Rubrik appliance or Rubrik CDM installed and configured with the proper licenses.

Steps to Connect PeaSoup S3 to Rubrik

  1. Log into Rubrik CDM Console:
    • Open the Rubrik CDM web interface by navigating to your Rubrik appliance or instance URL in a web browser.
    • Log in using your admin credentials.
  2. Navigate to Archival Locations:
    • In the Rubrik CDM dashboard, go to Settings > Archival Locations.
    • Click Add Location to create a new archival destination.
  3. Select S3-Compatible Storage:
    • Choose S3 Compatible as the archival destination type.
  4. Configure PeaSoup S3 as the Archival Location:
    • Endpoint: Enter the PeaSoup S3 endpoint https://s3.eu-west-1.peasoup.cloud
    • Access Key: Enter your PeaSoup S3 access key.
    • Secret Key: Enter your PeaSoup S3 secret key.
    • Bucket Name: Specify the PeaSoup S3 bucket you want to use for storing backups.
    • Region: Enter the region if required by PeaSoup, or leave it blank if not needed.
  5. Configure SLA Domain Policies for Archival:
    • After adding PeaSoup S3 as an archival location, go to SLA Domains.
    • Edit or create an SLA domain, and configure the archival policy to use the newly created PeaSoup S3 repository for long-term data retention.
  6. Test the Configuration:
    • Once PeaSoup S3 is set up as an archival destination, you can run a backup job and verify that the data is successfully stored in PeaSoup S3.

Notes

  • Ensure that PeaSoup S3 is reachable from your Rubrik appliance or CDM instance by verifying network settings and firewall rules.
  • Rubrik supports S3-compatible cloud object storage, so PeaSoup’s S3 service should integrate easily as a cloud archive or backup destination.
