How to Connect PeaSoup S3 to Asustor Backup Plan

Follow these steps to configure your Asustor NAS with Backup Plan to back up data to PeaSoup S3. Since PeaSoup uses an S3-compatible API, it can be set as a backup destination similar to Amazon S3.

Prerequisites

  • PeaSoup S3 Access: Make sure you have the following details:
    • Access key
    • Secret key
    • Bucket name
    • PeaSoup S3 endpoint URL https://s3.eu-west-1.peasoup.cloud
  • Asustor NAS with the Backup Plan app installed and configured.

Steps to Connect PeaSoup S3 to Asustor Backup Plan

  1. Log into Asustor NAS:
    • Access your Asustor NAS by entering the IP address of the device in a web browser.
    • Log in using your administrator credentials.
  2. Open the Backup Plan App:
    • In the Asustor NAS dashboard, open the Backup Plan app from the App Central or Main Menu.
  3. Create a New Backup Job:
    • Click on Create Backup Job or New Task to start the process.
    • Choose S3-Compatible Storage as your backup destination.
  4. Configure PeaSoup S3 as the Backup Destination:
    • Service Provider: Select Custom S3-Compatible.
    • Access Key: Enter your PeaSoup S3 access key.
    • Secret Key: Enter your PeaSoup S3 secret key.
    • Bucket Name: Enter the name of the PeaSoup S3 bucket where you want to store your backups.
    • Endpoint: Enter the PeaSoup S3 endpoint https://s3.eu-west-1.peasoup.cloud
    • Region: If required by PeaSoup, enter the region or leave it blank if not needed.
  5. Select Data to Back Up:
    • Choose the files or folders from your Asustor NAS that you want to back up to PeaSoup S3.
  6. Set the Backup Schedule:
    • Configure how often you want the backup to occur (e.g., daily, weekly, or at a specific time).
    • Set up any optional settings such as encryption, compression, and bandwidth control if needed.
  7. Complete the Backup Job Setup:
    • After configuring the backup details, click Apply to save the task.
    • You can choose to run the backup immediately or let it run on the defined schedule.
    • Monitor the backup status to ensure that data is being successfully sent to PeaSoup S3.

  • Ensure PeaSoup S3 is reachable from your Asustor NAS by verifying network settings, firewall rules, and permissions.
