PeaSoup takes on its largest project to revolutionise the UK cloud service market

PeaSoup Hosting Limited, a disruptive cloud company focusing on delivering business-grade cloud services through innovative technologies, is pleased to announce that it has received a non-dilutive Government six figures grant for the Eco Cloud project to deliver what is now known as a hyper-converged architecture from liquid immersive cooled data centres.

In receiving a grant to lead the way with a highly efficient and carbon-efficient Eco Cloud, based on the concept of server liquid immersion cooling, PeaSoup will achieve at least 30% saving of power and carbon emissions, increasing performance and reliability from the underlying hardware whilst remaining ultra-competitive against the world’s hyper-scale cloud providers.

In recent years a huge surge in data usage has been seen, mainly from new technologies such as artificial intelligence, mobile, IR 4.0 and the internet of things, and as a result of that increased demands for cloud services and consequently data centres. However, traditional data centres utilise air conditioning technology to cool the servers. With no efficient method currently available to cool the equipment, datacentre operations use 30–55% of the overall energy consumption for cooling and ventilation systems. So, an efficient cooling solution for data centres is needing urgently to reduce their carbon footprint.

PeaSoup aims to do just that by introducing an IT infrastructure design that embraces advanced liquid immersion technology to cool data centre equipment. This method of cooling will reduce power usage by at least 30% and allows higher processor utilisation by maintaining temperatures below the thermal limit. The new environmentally friendly high-density data centre concept allows for extremely efficient and simplified service deployment which incorporates low noise pollution.

This is very much aligned with the current Government recent announcement to aggressively reduce carbon footprint by over 68% to 1990s carbon emissions levels by the end of 2030 and ambitious net-zero emissions by 2050.

Wrapping up, PeaSoup new Eco Cloud services will use liquid immersion technology for efficient cooling to reduce the environmental impact aligning with the Government carbon-emission plans. This will result in reduced power consumption and reduced carbon emissions. No other UK cloud provider in the UK has commercially adapted a cloud architecture to immerse it in liquid.
